Color Guard Uniform Information
Greetings to our new and returning Color Guard Members and families! We are looking forward to an exciting and busy year with football games, competitions and parades. The Council Rock Marching Band takes great pride in looking our best when we step out onto the field.
The Color Guard members of the Marching Band Program wear two uniforms. The Fall Uniform is worn during football games and competitions. There is also a Summer Uniform that is worn during warm weather at the start of the football season and at the Memorial Day Parade in May.
The Council Rock Band Parents’ Association (CRBPA) provides each student with the Fall Tunic (top half of the Color Guard Fall uniform), as well as an insulated raincoat. There are, however, some items that the Guard members are required to provide (at their own expense) to complete the Fall Uniform and these are as follows: black capri leggings, solid black ankle socks and one pair of black “Starlite 2” guard shoes. To help stay on track, HERE is a summary of important dates to keep in mind when navigating through the uniform ordering and distribution process.
If purchasing any of the required uniform items is a financial hardship, please contact Mr. Bishop or Mr. Larry Trimble and the fees will be confidentially waived.
Once the Fall Uniform is distributed, Guard members and their parents will be required to sign a Uniform and Equipment Agreement (similar to that which other organizations require within CRSD). This Agreement outlines responsibilities and care for this Color Guard uniform. A sample copy of the Agreement can be viewed HERE and/or downloaded from the Forms section of this website. Students and parents should take the time to thoroughly read through the Agreement before signing.
Wearing a Color Guard uniform is both an honor and a privilege, but, at times, the process can seem a little overwhelming considering the many details involved with ordering, wearing and caring for the uniforms. The following overview will help guide you through the requirements; however, questions may also be directed to the Council Rock Band Parent Association (CRBPA) Color Guard Chairperson:

FALL UNIFORM
- The Fall Tunic (top half of the Color Guard fall uniform) is funded and provided by the Council Rock Band Parents Association (CRBPA). There are, however, a few items in the uniform that each Color Guard member is responsible for providing at their own expense.
- Assigning the Fall Uniform is a two-step process. Color Guard members are measured in June during Mini Camp and then individual fittings and distribution takes place in August during the first week of Band Camp.
- To keep the uniforms “uniform”, Color Guard members must purchase the black capri leggings through the CRBPA Kampus Klothes Online Store on or before June 6, 2021. Samples are made available during Mini Camp for sizing assistance because all online sales are final and there are no exchanges. The remaining items (Black “Starlite 2” Guard Shoes and the Nude Colored Talon Fingerless Guard gloves) will be purchased directly from the CRBPA during the first week of August Band Camp. Socks are BYO (bring your own).
- Each Color Guard member will be issued a nude colored long-sleeved leotard during cold-weather performances (if it’s compatible with the design of the customized Fall Tunic).
- Access the CRBPA Kampus Klothes Online Store on or before June 6, 2021.
Please note the CRBPA Online Store has two sections: 1. Marching Band (Instrumentalist) Section and 2. Color Guard Section. All purchases for Color Guard should be made from the Color Guard section (personalized track jacket and track pants are included in these purchases).
- Uniform items purchased from the Kampus Klothes Online Store will be distributed in August during the first week of Band Camp.
- Each Color Guard member is issued a garment bag that holds the Fall Tunic, leotard (if provided) and Guard Shoes (shoes may be stored at home, too). The garment bag is stored in the uniform closet in the band room.
- Storage and cleaning of the black capri leggings, black socks, guard gloves (rifle line only) and guard shoes (garment bag OR home) will be the responsibility of each Color Guard member for each performance.
SUMMER UNIFORM
- Each Color Guard member is responsible for purchasing their own Summer Uniform pieces:

(with logo)
Black Capri Leggings [$23]
(same as in Fall Uniform)
1 Pair Black “Starlite 2” Guard Shoes [$39/pair]
(same pair as in Fall Uniform)

- To keep the uniforms “uniform”, Color Guard members must purchase the navy blue polo shirt and tracksuit (personalized track jacket and track pants) through the CRBPA Kampus Klothes Online Store on or before June 6, 2021.

Please note the CRBPA Online Store has two sections: 1. Marching Band (Instrumentalist) Section and 2. Color Guard Section. All purchases for Color Guard should be made from the Color Guard section (personalized track jacket and track pants are included in these purchases).
- Items purchased from the Kampus Klothes Online Store will be distributed during the first week of Band Camp in August.
- Storage and cleaning of the Summer Uniform – navy blue polo shirt, black capri leggings, black ankle socks, black “Starlite 2” guard shoes, nude colored talon fingerless guard gloves, tracksuit (personalized track jacket and track pants) – will be the responsibility of each Color Guard member. All Color Guard members are expected to have their summer uniform ready to go should the Director call for it. Guard shoes must be cleaned and the navy polo shirt and black capri leggings must be laundered and wrinkle-free. DO NOT bleach or add softeners. DO NOT tumble dry your black capri leggings. Please do not leave the summer uniforms in the band closet. Students who are not prepared may not be able to participate.
- All Summer Uniform pieces must have the Color Guard member’s name clearly labeled.
